Dr. Robert D. Moore is internationally known as one of the foremost Laparoscopic and Vaginal Reconstructive Surgeon who has operated on patients from all over the United States and the world. He has gained respect and admiration from physicians, surgeons and patients globally secondary to his surgical skills and unwary dedication to research, teaching and advancing technologic advancements in the field of vaginal surgery. He travels the world demonstrating and teaching new surgical techniques and is sought after by patients and physicians alike for both treatment and/or training. He has received prominent awards in his field including being named to Castle Connolly “Top Doctor Award” 2012, Americas Best Doctors List in 2011/2012 and Consumers Research Council Americas Top Ob/Gyn list for 4 consecutive years.
His reputation combined with Fellowship training in Urogynecology and advanced training in Laparoscopic Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery has lead him to co-direct the most foremost pelvic and vaginal reconstruction surgical teams in the world.
Dr. Moore originally received his medical degree with top honors from the University of New England in 1994. Dr. Moore has 4 more years of vaginal surgery training than the average gynecologist. He was trained as a gynecologist (4 years) and then proceeded to do two 2- year fellowships in advanced surgical training. After completing his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1998 in New England he came to Atlanta and spent 2-years in Radical Pelvic Surgery (Gyn Oncology)/Urogynecology and Vaginal Reconstructive Fellowship Training.
In 2000, he joined Dr. John R. Miklos at the Atlanta Center for Laparoscopic Urogynecology and trained for 2 more additional years in Minimally Invasive Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery. In January of 2012, Dr. Moore, along with Dr. Miklos expanded their busy Atlanta practice to Los Angeles, California and opened the Beverly Hills Center for Laparoscopic Urogynecology. Dr. Moore is currently the Director of Advanced Pelvic Surgery and the Co-Director of Urogynecology at the Atlanta Center for Laparoscopic Urogynecology, the Vaginal Rejuvenation Center of Atlanta and Atlanta Medical Research, Inc.
Dr. Moore continues to be very active in clinical research and new innovations in the field of Urogynecology. His dedication to patient care and minimally invasive surgical techniques has lead Dr. Moore to be the Principal and Co-Principal investigator on a number of multicenter trials throughout the United States, leading gynecologists, urologists and urogynecologists. Dr. Moore tirelessly travels the globe in pursuit of perfecting his skills as well as training, teaching and educating others. He travels more than 100,000 miles a year operating and lecturing throughout the world. In the last year he has taught over 300 surgeons new techniques in Incontinence and Prolapse surgery at Universities and Major Hospitals in Miami, Alabama, San Francisco, Memphis, LA, Boston, NYC, Chicago, Houston as well as many others. Over 100 surgeons per year travel to Atlanta to observe and learn from Dr. Moore and his partner Dr. John R. Miklos in their operating room. This commitment has resulted in their unprecedented expertise resulting in patients’ confidence. It is this confidence that patients are willing to travel from all over the world for surgery. Dr. Moore and Miklos have now operated on patients from 49 states and 48 countries.
Dr. Robert D. Moore is board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG) as well as the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and International College of Surgeons (FICS). He is member of the American Association of Gyn Laparoscopists, American Urogynecology Society, International Urogynecology Association, and the American Urologic Association and a Fellow of the The Royal Society of Medicine, London, England. He is also the Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Urology.
